WMC Executive Director, Pastor Mamerto Guingging II who is also the Communication Director and Hope Channel grand advocate in that region wished to instill in the workers and constituents the effectiveness and efficiency of the media in bringing the gospel message. And so at his able command, Hope Channel’s Nuelin Sanes (Mindanao Manager), Johnster Calibod (Technical Director), Ramie Gerong (Graphics and Video Editor) and Jade Soreño (Scriptwriter-Host)—all the way from the Studio at Cagayan de Oro City—revealed the intricacies (and joys!) of the media ministry plus top tips on how to produce programs for TV. To say that the brethren is thrilled to join and support Hope Channel is an understatement—they have already organized 2 media groups currently producing for the TV ministry: Blessed Hope TV Ministry directly under Pastor Guingging, and Advent TV sponsored by Engr. Albert Quiza.

On the 22^nd, the Crew recorded the singing talents of the Western Mindanao Conference for a TV-worthy remembrance of the affair. The videos will be uploaded here soon. But for now, visit the Gallery to see the pictures.

More than 300 turned out to avail the medical services offered for free last May 15, 2011 at the SPUC Garden Church of the Seventh-day Adventists, along Masterson Avenue on Carmen Hill. The church organized the Medical Outreach for the residents of Zone 10 and 11 of Upper Carmen, offering blood pressure readings, eye check up, blood sugar screening, pap smear, tooth extractions, circumcisions, medical consultations, general check up, and free medicines for filling the prescriptions issued.

The members of the Lions Club of Metro Cagayan arrived and lent a big help, side by side with the members of the said Seventh-day Adventist church, and medical volunteers from as far as Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital in Iligan City. Other private practitioners including non-Adventist doctors, friends and medical students throughout Cagayan de Oro City also joined in and completed the medical outreach team for a total of 80 volunteers.
“We feel so privileged to avail this plenty of services for free,” cried one elderly woman who came with her daughter and grandson as they received their much needed medicines. “We would be spending so much money if we go to private clinics—money we don’t have,” added another middle-aged woman who had her eyes checked and two of her teeth extracted.
The registry is filled with well-served townsfolk, inspiring the organizers to project another medical mission like this in the near future. So, heads up!
